User-validated constraints can be a perfect way to solve design problems but it is also a balancing act. The constraint must be natural for the user and be based on their expectations, derived from studying their behavior, environment and context of use. A design constraint is applied to simplify usability and minimize errors. There are two types of constraints, physical and psychological. Since user experience is human interaction focused, using the second of the two helps to improve the clarity and intuitiveness of a design.
